I'd like to pay you three times as much money for the job you're doing already? Man, that sounds pretty good! Too bad my boss never said that to me, but Amazon sure did. Stop leaving money on the table and get into the audiobook game.
I've been emailing on of my tribe members, who also happens to be an awesome author.
She lives outside the United States and been trying to set up an ACX account for a while.
In this episode, I share with you two ways to overcome this hurdle, but since recording the episode I have found a new path.
The only challenge with this new option is that you have to record the book yourself or hire a professional.
ACX lets you profit share, but these guys don't.
I'm talking about Authors Republic.
They now offer to get your audiobook onto multiple platforms and are a new alternative.
With a Grain of Salt
Their service might be great, but I only discovered these guys this morning.
I went through their recommendations section and I don't like what I see so far.
They want you to spend thousands of dollars hiring a narrator from the most expensive providers on Earth.
They also think a book cover should cost at least three hundred bucks.
These are red flags for me; it just means that they will post a link to any brand that lets them be affiliates.
My advice is to be a little savvier.
Get your narrator handled using the old “Serve No Master” way for pennies on the dollar.
Then give these guys a crack and see if they can deliver.
I may do a test book with them next month, but I like to keep you guys cutting edge with my discoveries.
They do offer you a lot more control than ACX and there is the potential to make triple the money, so they are definitely worth checking out.
