Most people think that magic words are the key to great copywriting.
Just like many people think that supplements are the key to weight loss.
At best, that only covers the final ten percent.
The most important part of a good sales letter or video is the order.
Cover the sections in the correct order and your offer will do ok.
Once you have a decent structure, it is the proof that will make or break your sales letter.
What the heck is proof?
I was on the phone yesterday with a new business partner and we were talking about using a new platform to launch an offer.
It was a piece of software that I'd never heard of.
The website looked really slick and I think I've heard the name at least once before.
So I had some product awareness.
For some reason, I felt like something was missing.
And that's when I realized that there isn't a single picture of a satisfied customer.
There were no pictures of a graph shooting up with sales or profits.
There were no pictures of people standing next to nice cars.
The Amazon Secret
Where I live, it's nearly impossible to buy stuff from Amazon.
I have to ship to a 3rd party company that will bring items across the ocean for me, or use a company that buys it from Amazon and sells it to me at a premium.
I do a lot of my purchases from local websites in my country.
But, before I make a purchase, I still check those Amazon listings.
When I'm thinking about grabbiing a new video game, I don't look at what other websites have to say.
I want to read reviews by REAL people.
That is the foundation of the entire Amazon business.
Without the reviews, Amazon wouldn't be around anyore.
When you're online and thinking about making a purchase, there is a point where you realize taht this item looks awesome.
If it keeps the promises that it made, then you definietly want it in your life.
But then you have to ask yourself, “Can I trust this person?”
There are people who don't trust Amazon.
The go onto that website, read the reviews to find the item they want to buy, and then go into town and buy it from a big box store for ten percent more.
Amazon does everything in it's power to recover those sales.
Dont' let that happen to you.
Don't convince people that they need your solution, only to see them buy it from someone else.
